"LongbowMkII" (longbowmkii)

It was 55* and sunny so I did what came naturally to my mind. Back roads!
Time to actually play with the evora. Problem: battery is dead, simple enough tend it for a couple hours, good to go. However this led to a discovery of water in the trunk. Whoops. That Norfolk engineering at work. Had to move and reset the trunk carpeting and sealing anyways to charge the battery. Even if it doesn’t “fix” it, it’ll be stored inside from now on so... problem solved?
So far my ownership has been maximum Lotus.
10/10 would make bad decision again.

How’s the driving experience? Like, if you’ve ever driven a Toyota MR2, how does it compare? I’ve always seen the Evora as a Big MR2, but I’ve always wondered how it drives.

Haven’t driven an mr2 or any MR car to compare. But the point of rotation being different (than say a NA Miata or s2k) is a tangible feeling, not just MR fanboy talk. There are a few moments when there’s no other word for the steering than telepathic. Which puts it on a different level than other performance cars I’ve driven, (test or otherwise). All the BS I ever read about BMW’s actually applies here. The closest I’d compare it to is my friends modified MSM when on Hoosiers. Grip and steering feel is a good combo, missed by many. I haven’t even touched a limit on this yet, probably won’t until I take it to a track.
It’s not a very good car practically speaking, but it’s something “special” that makes it worth the occasional annoyance.

That sounds almost exactly like my MR2. How much trunk space does it have? MR2s have a trunk and a Frunk too.

No frunk, not much trunk. Mines the 2+0 so there’s a good amount of space behind the seats.

Oh the 2+0 is definitely the way I would go for the Evora too. Not that anyone could fit in the back anyway lol.

Great looking car! I’m actually considering an Evora myself. What year is yours? I test drove a 400 and was smitten. But a new/expensive Lotus just seems almost as crazy as a cheap Ferrari. Although reality is the newer ones seem to actually be holding up as decent cars!
